North Idaho Guinea Pig Rescue is a foster-based guinea pig rescue serving North Idaho and Spokane areas.
Rescue • Educate • Rehome
Founded in response to the growing need for proper guinea pig care and safe rehoming support, we work to reduce neglect, improper rehoming, and abandonment through limited intake rescue, humane care standards, and community education. Our focus is always on the well-being of the animals, ensuring every guinea pig has the opportunity to enter a safe, informed, and committed home.

No. North Idaho Guinea Pig Rescue operates as a small, foster-based rescue with limited space and resources. Intake is based on current capacity, funding, and foster availability. While we strive to help as many guinea pigs as possible, submitting a surrender request does not guarantee immediate intake.
Adopters must provide proper housing, a hay-based diet, daily care, and a long-term commitment to the animal’s well-being. We prioritize homes with appropriate C&C cage setups, bonded pair placements when possible, and owners who understand guinea pig care needs. An adoption application and approval are required before placement.
You can support North Idaho Guinea Pig Rescue through supply donations, sharing adoptable guinea pigs, and helping spread proper guinea pig care education in the community. Donations of hay, pellets, fleece, cages, and other essentials directly help animals in our care.
